Tasdak applicator spraying a protective coating on structural steel in a Buffalo fabrication shop

Protective coatings that keep Western New York's steel and concrete in service.

Tasdak Coatings Group is a family-run industrial painting contractor. We blast, line, coat and fireproof the assets your operation cannot afford to shut down — with the surface-prep records and inspection data to prove the work was done right.

What we do

Eight service lines, one crew that owns the outcome.

We do not subcontract the work out and hope for the best. Every scope is run by a Tasdak foreman, documented daily, and closed out with the prep readings, batch numbers and dry-film thickness logs in one package.

  • Written surface-prep and system recommendation before a single dollar is quoted
  • Daily QA reports with ambient conditions, dew point and DFT readings
  • Photo documentation from bare substrate to final coat
  • Closeout binder your engineer and insurer can both use

Why owners keep calling us back

The difference is what happens before the spray gun comes out.

Roughly four out of five coating failures we are called in to fix are preparation failures, not product failures. That is why our estimates start with a substrate condition assessment and a written prep standard instead of a square-foot price pulled out of the air.

A predictable five-step process

Full breakdown
  1. 01

    Site walk

Paul Welch visits, measures, tests adhesion and photographs conditions. No charge, no obligation.

  2. 02

    System & scope

You get a written recommendation: prep standard, product system, film build, schedule and access plan.

  3. 03

    Mobilization

Containment, safety plan, permits, insurance certificates and a pre-job meeting with your team.

  4. 04

    Application & QA

Daily logs, hold points and third-party inspection coordination where the spec requires it.

  5. 05

    Closeout

Punch walk, warranty documents, batch records, DFT data and a maintenance schedule.

Questions

Answers before you pick up the phone

All FAQs
Do you work while our plant is running?

Yes — most of our work is done in occupied, operating facilities. We build negative-pressure containment, schedule around your production or sanitation windows, and can run second and third shift crews. On food and pharma work we use low-odor, low-VOC systems and provide the documentation your quality team needs.

How fast can you get an estimate out?

Paul Welch does the site walk personally. Most estimates are back to you within three business days of the walk; emergency and shutdown scopes are usually priced same-day.

What areas do you serve?

Buffalo and all of Western New York is our core market. We regularly travel to Rochester, Syracuse, Jamestown, Erie PA and the Southern Tier, and we take shutdown work further out when the schedule allows.

Are you insured and bonded?

We carry $5M general liability, full workers' compensation, auto and pollution liability, and we can furnish performance and payment bonds for public and prime-contract work. Certificates are issued before mobilization.

Which coating system will you specify?

It depends on exposure, substrate condition and downtime. We write a system recommendation based on the survey — immersion, atmospheric, chemical splash or thermal cycling all point to different products. We are not tied to a single manufacturer.
